I am about to fit the plinths to my new kitchen. They are the usual type with clips that attach to the legs of the unit.

The kitchen is a "U " shape - that has units on three sides.

My question is

Do you leave a gap between the top of the plinth and the bottom of the base unit , in case you need to remove them to repair any appliance that goes wrong eg washing machine.

If so how big a gap - obviously not so large as to be visible.

If the applainaces are on the one middle run, can the other two be snug with the bottom of the base units and the middle one have the gap which could be fitted last and if need be taken out.

Many thanks for any advice on this

You can leave a small [5mm] gap all round to ease removal, they are set back so gaps cannot be seen unless you happen to be lying on the floor of your kitchen.
