Kitchen problems

Am currently doing up my kitchen ,but seems I can't do any of the electrics any more unless i go through the council ( i don't have time for that).
Is this correct?

I have routed out for an FCU as a spur for the cooker Hood and need and extra couple of double sockets on the ring main.
To allow me to carry on does anyone know if I have put new reg 2.5mm wire under the floorboards and in a conduit for the spur will an electrician be happy with that and do his work at both ends or will he want to actually see the wire.
I.E can I plaster up the conduit and screw me cabinets to the wall or will I have to wait till he has been.

Yes that is correct.

You need to notify the LABC before starting any electrical work.

You need to find an electrician and ask him

I suspect most will not be happy to certify work which they do not know complies with all apropriate regulations.

If you want to do the work yourself you should inform the LABC 48 hours before you start work. They will then check your work and on being satisfied will do the appropriate tests and issue certificate.

Alternatively, you get an electrician who is Part P registered to do the work and he will issue the certificate.

Suggest you speak to your electrician beforehand.
