Kitchen sink blocked, tricky access

Thanks, I'm confused - dishwasher hose is the dark grey hose on the right which is higher than the discharge point which is the pipe that meets the trap at the bottom?

It could well be that the pipe is slightly uphill or level so I guess I could look at adjusting it downward

Sorry yes sink overflow seal has dropped down the back. I think there's no way to retrieve it unless I take out the supporting cabinet shelf to get under and around but I fear that the supporting shelf is holding the sink in place so it will fall out if I remove!
Grey discharge hose has to have a high point above outlet, your hose is pumping up into waste, not down.

Thanks for the help all, sink is now wonderfully unblocked and runs like a dream.

After replacing the trap I damaged I filled the sink, sealed off the overflow pipe with my hand and used a plunger and proper gave it some using muscles I've not worked as hard since I was a teenager

There appeared to be a big air block which burst and the sink drained immediately.

Now just got the tricky task of fitting the overflow back properly

Or run the washing on its hottest wash, once a month with nothing inside the machine. Its good for the machine and pipework.

^this.

I have had to sort out my mum's washing machine in the past- crud in the waste pipe. I asked her to run it on the hottest wash every couple of months.

I had to remove the waste pipe from the waste spigot. Icky, but I managed to blow the ick back in to the drum (to remove the blockage).

Our washing machine is normally full of fibres and dog hairs - does it help stop all this too?
