While using a drain snake on my Bianco sink I took the U bend off, and then the next 90° bend which leads to the waste pipe, and have found I am unable to get the 90° bend back on. I'm not sure if it was glued but it came off easily and there was not much residue on the 40mm waste pipe. The interesting thing is the 90° bend has a pipe inside with a 34mm internal diameter, and I can't see any way of connecting it to the 40mm waste pipe.

There was a T8M fitting over the 40mm waste pipe, which then screwed onto a thread to the 90° pipe. However, the T8M was just placed over the 40mm pipe with some kind of glue holding it all there. The T8M is a few millimetres larger than the 40mm pipe so it has a gap around it when I place it over the pipe.

Is there a was of taking a flexible U bend pipe with a 45mm female thread and connecting that end to the Bianco sink, with the other end going straight into the 40mm waste pipe?

It seems the 34mm internal diameter pipes do not have as many fittings as they are not a conventional size. Even if I managed to get one it would probably push the 90° bend further away from the waste pipe and then make it difficult to connect my existing set up to the base of the sink. I have attached some photos.

Thanks. You were entirely right. I brought the part into the Plumbers merchant before I seen your reply, and asked for a compression fitting, only for him to have a laugh as I was holding one in my hand and then point out the rubber seal hidden inside.
