Is it ok to use a bottle trap on a kitchen sink, or should it be a u-bend type?

1. Bottle traps are not recommended for sinks because they block more easily than others.
2. Size is 40 mm / 1.5" as CBW says. They are the same thing - well they are in plumbing usage anyway!
