About to have a wall removed to create a kitchen diner. This wall has a double socket on it with the 2.5mm ring main running around the kitchen under the units. Can I remove this socket myself, joining the ring up again?

All work within a kitchen seems to require someone who is Part P registered, but as this is removal rather than replacement or installation of new stuff is this still the case?

Thanks for the reply. Cable won't be buried or inaccessible so that won't be a problem. Cheers

So where are you going to run the cable and how/ where are you going to join the cable?

The cable already runs beneath the base units at floor level around three sides of the room. Removal of the socket will mean shortening the ring main where base units are removed and joining using a 30amp jb that will sit under the base units.

Fair point, securing to wall won't be a problem and I can maintain access afterwards by putting it behind drawers.
