The cold tap in the kitchen was dripping constantly, so i took out the valve and cleaned the ceramic parts and put it back in, was a bad idea....now its constantly pouring water, only way to turn it off is if i turn the stopvalve under the sink.

Anyone know what i need to do to fix the problem, will i need a new valve or whole new tap? One thing i noticed, is if i put a little pressure on the vavle when its back in, it stops the water and works as normal!

You'll have to check that you've reassembled it correctly and that nothing is missing.
Take the other one apart for reference.

New valves is the way to go. Unfortunately, many are manufacturer specific. If you're lucky, you can get a pair from Screwfix for £5-£6 but if they don't fit you may need to identify make and model of tap. Some can be quite pricey. Franke for instance can be 20 odd quid each valve.

I'd just by a new tap... As a tradesman it'd cost the punter more for me to feck about with an old tap than to buy n replace with new!
