Kitchen taps slow to operate

Hi,

I have a mixer tap in the kitchen, and both the hot and cold are very slow to turn on - by that I mean it takes lots of turns before the flow is any good - when it gets there it's fine.

Is this something that can be easily rectified?

Change the taps. It sounds like the traditional high pressure tap fitted to a gravity domestic water system.
