I'm reorganising and adding to my kitchen floor cabinets. The "off the shelf" plinth height these days seems to be 150mm. However, my old units have legs that will only go down to 160mm. I'm replacing these legs with new B&Q ones so will have the same 150mm legs on all the units. When I set the hieght of the units fro the floor, should a leave exactly a 150mm gap or should I allow a few mm spare?

You normally set the worktop height to suit the main user. The gap at the bottom is what is left.

Your worktop height needs to allow for any under bench applianc washer or fridge for example. Set one unit to your plinth height (150mm) and check height from floor to top of cabinet (underside of worktop) it should be about870mm. This height normally allows appliances in no problem. You will also need to check the floor for level because if the floor runs up anywhere where an appliance is to go it will reduce the 870 height and could stop appliance from going in.
