Kitchen wood slat ceiling

We have a wood strip ceiling in the kitchen which is cold due to high sloping ceiling.We wish to cover this with slatted wood appearance uPVC to improve insulation and save repainting etc.Woukd this be safe to do and comply with any fire regs in UK?
Also any ideas of cost including labour for approx 15ft x 11 ft ceiling divided by wood beam into 2 parts?

Use Hardie or Cedral clad...




As said, this won't improve the insulative performance of ceiling/roof by much.
 
That looks good worth considering and notice it's above a hob oven so must be heat resistant looks like slope on our kitchen.Thanks for the input
