Klik Klak plug and slow draining

We have just recently had a new bathroom suite installed and the wash basin has a Klik Klak plug.

The problem we have is that the water is very slow draining when the plug is released, so is there any means of adjusting this type of plug to enable faster draining water.

If it can be adjusted, I take it that it would have to be removed, would it?
