Hi.

Two questions:

How much would it cost to knock through a wall in order to make two rooms in to one. The wall is roughly 8'9 wide by roughly 7' high and is none supporting. There is also a doorway that will need to be filled in (from the other room).

The second question is how much would it cost to create a double doorway with some kind of door system so you can step between both rooms easily therefore making the room seem bigger.

Please see the photo below for the room.

Thanks!

Hi Harry

If it's non supporting then it shouldn't really cost anything apart from the labour to pull it down (not long) and the disposal of rubbish.

But it looks like you have electrics in there so that will need tidying up by a qualified electrician.

And then there will be all the making good - replastering the ceiling and the side wall for example. What are you doing about flooring?

So I guess the question you should start by asking is what other work needs to be done apart from just removing the wall, which should be easy bit.

Then if you get some quotes you can try and ask them to break it down into component parts. Apart from anything else it ensures you know what is and isn't included!
