Hi all I am after some wood finishing advice for pine,
I am building a fire surround out of pine garden sleepers (non creosote) I have it all sanded down to 120 and its looking quite good so far.
I have decided to wax but I have read in some places that I should coat it in sanding sealer first to help fill the gaps and smooth surface after sanding
I have a 3/4 bottle of knotting solution going spare and wondered as they are both shellac based if it would be ok to replace the sanding sealer with the knotting solution as they are more or less the same product and I am after a
darkish colour anyway.
