wont turn on standby light keeps flashing on and off only 6th month old they are calling out on tuesday bought from comet any ideas till then?

Well, frankly, no. If it's showing standby but not turning on then it's likely there's some problem with the power supply inside the TV. You could try unplugging the set for a while - say an hour or two - and try again, but it's a really long shot.
What surprises me is that you called Comet on Tuesday and it sounds like they aren't able to respond quicker. Almost a week with a faulty TV isn't acceptable in my book.
