l,lord want,s back boiler unit and fire replaceing withfire

this l,lord wants me to price a job up for him to take out an old bbu. and fire and replace with fire only , the pipes are still in the chimney how far will they have to be taken out and flue have to be taken out so any one withe experience on this?

you get some experience gas fitter,s on here also,, that,s why i thought i,d post on here, as far as training goes i know what to do (take out old liner install new and cut back pipework to as far back as possible, and make sure all inlets, exit for pipework sealed etc..
but just thouhgt i,d get an other view on it that,s all ...allways good to get another view ,, but like yuo said it would be more app. to go on CC..

Seeing as you now know what to do, tell me WHY and for what reasons you will be fitting a new liner after removing the old one. Bearing in mind you have not visited the job yet

It all depends on the fire, but many fires can work into a standard brick chimney but that will still need the old liner removing and a suitable termination fitted on the stack.

EH. we know that Agile its basic . i wanted to know WHY he was going to fit a new liner without even visiting the property. And there are other reasons why a liner may be required on a fire install which cannot be determined unless actually in property.

Thats why I said its better asked in the combustion chamber!

However, as he is new to this work then at least he is asking first so that he does it properly first time.

You dont learn experience in a classroom! In general practice the number of fire installs one does is very small.

For boiler repairmen like yourself and others on here it maybe a small number but for proper gas men that do the full range of the industry then it is not and this is a basic question that the OP clearly doesn`t have clue . And would be better leaving the job alone than ask others who also only have an idea.
Agree you don`t learn as much in classroom but you certainly don`t learn it on an internet forum you learn by working with people who know what they are doing otherwise you leave DEAD bodies lying about. SIMPLE
