Hi
Would laminate flooring be ok to be installed in a childrens playhouse in the garden? I was going to get some waterproof laminate to put in there like they have in bathrooms etc

The floor currently is 12mm t&g flooring, but dont want to put something on this that would make it sweat and rot.

If so what underlay would you recommend as well?

Many Thanks

Lauren

definitely not laminate as it must not get wet with any damp mopped up within seconds to avoid damage

I thought you could get waterproof laminate that is used in bathrooms

What other flooring would you recommend vinyl?

ply the floor and paint

remember things will get dragged about far far more than indoors
and they will be wearing dirty gritty footwear that will soon scratch the surface

YOu don't want anything that will make the structure 'sweat' so that rules laminate and vinyl out, possibly carpet tiles?

How would laminate flooring be any different to carpet tiles? In terms of making the sub floor sweat

Laminate with its joint systems and underlay requirements is far less permeable than carpet tiles, also, carpet tiles won't be subject to condensation like the cold surface of laminate (above and below the board itself.)
