Hi,
I am toying with the idea of laying laminate flooring
in the bathroom.
The price is about the same as tiles, but a lot less chew.
I could have it fitted for around £70.00

I asked the salesman at the store if it was suitable
for bathrooms. He said they had laid it in bathrooms with
no complaints. I thought a bit of a body swerve answer.

Does anyone have it in their bathroom, or have any experience
with this stuff when it gets wet?

Also I have a free standing bath, and wonder if it might shatter
under the weight of bath plus water plus person in the bath.

Any help most appreciated,
Cheers,
Baz.

baz - don't use laminate in your bathroom; your post acknowledges the problem of using this stuff - it'll get wet and be ruined. you want something that'll stand-up to slops of water, wet feet, poor aim at the loo, etc. Tiles or vinyl (lino) is the way to go.
