I want to lay laminate flooring in a kitchen which is currently good condition lino on top of concrete.
Do I have to remove the lino and lay an alternative underlay?
You'll need to put an foam underlay between the lino and the laminate, you don't need to remove them as the laminate will be floating and not adhered to the lino.
Make that foam that includes a DPM. The lino might start to sweat and the foam on its own will not prevent this moist getting in to the new floor. Use a combi-underlayment = DPM + foam sound-insulation
