I’m looking for some quality and authentic oak effect laminate worktops for my new bathrooms. Can anyone recommend please? We had some in our previous new home and we were happy with them. Quartz seems a silly price unless anyone knows of anywhere I can get some for a reasonable price. Thanks, Chris

“Authentic” and “effect” would be appear to be a contradiction in terms .
As in I want real fake .

The most natural looking laminates (i.e. both "real" and "authentic") are those made using real wood veneer encapsulated in phenolic resin, e.g. those made by Woodlam laminates. To the terms "real" and "authentic" you can also add the word "expensive". To find made-up worktops in this stuff you'll possibly need to find a Warerite Perstorp dealer as the manufacturer is trade only and only makes the laminate these days AFAIK (from "real tree wood" as our 'murrican cuzzins might say). Formica also do some fascinating laminates resembling all sort of stuff from cleaved slate to tarnished hammered copper as well as some timber finishes - all used a lot in interior fit-outs.
