Another landlord question I am afraid. I have been contacted by our local authority who want a certificate for the fixed electrical installation in a HMO that I own. Unfortunately my better half took the call and left me a note. saying 'they' (council) it is a new statutory requirement.

Does anybody know where I could find this statutory requirement, please!

Dont know anything about this. How are the council involved, do they manage the property or are they responsible for the tenants in some way?

Ahh HMO, I missed that bit. What sort of report do councils expect wrt the electrical installation at a HMO?
Is it a full PIR (how often) or is it somewatered down thing like NICEIC's Visual inspection Report (pah!)

The council are involved because by law you need a licence for a HMO.

Part of the council requirement is property has a full PIC and Gas Certificate.
