Came home and unlocked mortice lock, then put key in rim/latch lock. It turned then suddenly 'jumped'andcontinued turning.
Luckily it did open the lock so I got the door open, but when I experimented further with the door open, it repeated this 'jumping' whilst not actully moving the latch.
I have a spare barrel, so switcg=hed barels but this not resolve the problem. The new barrel similarly 'jumped' and failed to open the latch.
Figured it was not the barre but the lock itelf that was the problem and put a complete new lock on. The sems to have sorted the issue, but I'm still confused as to what acualy is wrong ad whether the original lock is redeamable or dead?
