I have an un level timber floor which has had 6mm ply put on top of 18 mm floor boards. The amtico company want to level it with as much as 10mm latex. Will the weight of this be ok as they are 1930 joists 4x2 . I was told to tile you need to reinforce the floor. Surely this thickness is the same sort of weight ?

the fitters I used put plyboard down to level upstairs, no screed. Seems a bit crazy to pour screed over wooden floors - don't you have water, heating pipes, electrics etc. running under the floorboards?
Whenever I get any done I ask, what if something breaks and I need to access it? Maybe better to make the timber floor solid and level, than pour cement over it.

Will this be two 10kg bags of latex spread over the floor, or two 1 tonne bags?

If the former things might be OK. If the latter things still might be OK.
