I have a Laurell tree in my garden, well established at about 7 foot high. It has been in the garden for around seven years. Only this year all the leaves turned yellow and eventually dropped of. I have left it in and have now noticed new growth coming from the root. I havent done anything in the garden to change the soil other than re turf around it.
Could the problem be contamination from the turf.

Any advice would be greatley appretiated.

Laurel is usually as tough as old boots so I doubt any turfing has caused the problem, unless you sprayed the turf with something. Can't think of anything off the top of my head, as I say Laurel is really tough.
