Hi quick question

A: Do I butt the harboard sheets up against the existing gripper rods, or
B: Do I need to remove the existing gripper rods, butt the hardboard sheets to the skirting and reinstall the gripper rods?

Answer A is my preference but I don't want the fitter turning up and saying he can't lay the carpet due to my poor preparation.

Advice appreciated

Remove all the gripper rods, they should be fitted ontop of the hardboard and cost pence to replace.
