Laying laminate when the wall is not straight

Hi,

I am laying laminate floor for the first time and I think that the walls in the room are not straight. In that case, should I let the laminate get away from the wall? Or should I continue with the 1cm expansion gap as shown in the picture below?


Any advice is appreciated. Many thanks,

yes as long as the step is less than 5mm and if your gap is 8-12mm tapering your room needs to be no more than around 4m
any greater than 5 mm taper the ends
