I will soon be embarking on my first patio but have been given conflicting advice. Could I hear your opinons please so I can make a good decision and a long lasting patio. It wong have too much traffic ist only gong to have the table and chairs on it and its not like we get too much sun to enjoy the patio as much as I'd like
Firstly both say I do not need hardore.
One person has told me to lay the slabs directly onto sand and that the motisture mixed with sand will go off firming up the slabs underneath.
The other says if im not doing hardcore then I will need to do a bed of cement before laying the slabs.
What are peoples opinions on these recommendations?
