Laying new flooring

S

snadge

when it comes to laying the floor what is the best way to do it with T&G lengths that are 400mm short of the width of room... there IS a joist on that 400mm but I dont think its very professionall using full size length then a 400mm piece - even if swapped sides on next run - my plan is to run 2/3rd or 3/4 along to joist then piece in the rest and swap sides on next run
so each row is as follows

2/3 - 1/3
1/3 - 2/3
2/3 - 1/3

etc etc

so its tied in better.. or is it OK just to run the full length in with a 400mm cut on end and vice versa?

thanks in advance for all the help and advice

cheers

and on that other post you are indeed right, you've answered your own question: have the boards staggered the way you suggest yourself to create a stable and nice looking result
