Hi,

Just need a bit of help re: the above. I am laying onto joists, 400mm apart with underfloor heating underneath. Area is sealed with kingspan, no draughts.

1. Nail or screw through the tongue? Time is not an issue?
2. Where the boards butt up at the ends, do I glue and biscuit joint?
3. Do i glue between the boards and then screw? Or no glue at all?

Thanks for you help

How wide are your Oak boards?

Hope you've gone for a thick engineered board, Solid and UFH is a big no no in our books

Thanks woodyoulike.

They are 7" boards, american white oak, sawn underneath to reduce cupping effect. Appreciate your comments, but this is where I am at.

The boards are well acclimatized. Upstairs they are o.k, apart from the ones that were not given time to do that. That I have paid for, nuf said, moving on.

Would appreciate answers to my original post.

Thanks

Dave

Recommend glueing boards down to prevent air-gaps underneath.

Screwing floorboards = 'screwing' up the floor, because it will prevent the wood from moving with the seasons and you end up with split boards. Wood is stronger than you think.
