Laying over existing laminate

Need to read again , OP original statement “Bedroom. Has laminate flooring, sound enough. I want to carpet it. Tempted to just leave the laminate down and get underlay/carpet put on top.”

The OP confused me with the above line, He said laminate on top.

I hadn't thought about the laminate not gripping the underlay properly.

Anyways that aside, I'm going to rip the existing stuff up in both rooms :)
