Lead flashing, incorrect overlap?

Hi all,

I’ve just had some lead flashing fitted to my porch in the UK and I’m looking for a bit of advice. I’ve attached a photo (with tape measure for scale) – the overlap between the two sections of lead looks to be around 70mm.

From what I’ve read in the Lead Sheet Association guidance and BS 6915:2001, overlaps should be at least 100mm to prevent water ingress. I’m wondering if 70mm is acceptable in practice (given this is only a porch and fairly sheltered) or if it should definitely be redone to meet best practice.

Also, are there any other issues you can spot with how the flashing has been installed? I’d really appreciate the opinions of those with experience in roofing and leadwork.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert but if you want an opinion, then I'd say ideally it would have been done with 10, but the probability is it will be OK as it is, and therefore it would be wasteful of time and resources to get them to redo it, and other than that, it looks like a nice job.

Ive taken some of the tiles off, as they had also installed some drip trays along the guttering, but it looks as though they have stopped shy of the end of the guttering about 550mm away from the end of the porch. It looks as if they have installed this too short. There is also expanding foam at the end. Someone tell me this is normal to finish the drip trays short? Not sure if this is normal but would appreciate sone advice.
