Lead flashing on new wall

Hi

Just in the process of building a new small pitched roof over the garage and porch of an extension that we are doing. The wall is currently just breeze block from the new pitched roof upto the eaves, but will eventually be rendered.

I'm unsure about the flashing though, can this sit behind the render or would it be better to render the wall first and then put the flashing on the outside?

If putting the flashing behind the render is the best option, how would I fix the render to the flashing?

Flashing first then render with a bell bead that sits so that it just covers the flashing chase.
