Lead flashing rust?

As shown in photo, just noticed there are a number of places of brownish spots on the lead flashing where the ground floor roof meets the wall. Is it rust? Other than that the whole lead flashing looks ok. Is it normal? Thanks for any advice.

strange - that "lead " looks like it's painted on :unsure:
