Lead or plastic flashing around the soil pipe?

Hi

A local roofing company has accidentally (?) replaced the lead flashing around our soil stack with a plastic alternative. The soil stack goes straight through the roof.

Apparently the roofer was given the wrong address & he replaced it while we where out.

The question is should I get them to put the lead back ( which I still have as we arrived just as they were leaving so did not let them take it) or is it better to leave newer plastic fixing? The lead is about 45 years old

Obviously I won't find out if it's a good job until it rains heavy.

If nothing happens when it rains then put to the back of the shed as a spare.
