Hi,

we had a lovely new tiled roof until all the rain recently. stupidly the roofer did not use patination oil on the new lead guttering and now we have awful white lead stains all over both sides of the dormers.

what is the best way to get rid of it? the builder suggested today that he can put teak oil on it but that sounds like it will just mask the staining rather than remove it for good?
many thanks in advance

Never tried it, but was told when I was a lad that either half a lemon or drop of vinegar rubbed over the stain and lightly scrubbed of 10 minutes later with clean water and drop of washing up liquid removes it.
Suggest try small section first and leave to dry overnight.
Regards oldun
