We have had terrible weather over the past few days with storms and driving torrential rain and our side door is leaking at the top.

The internal plaster above the door frame is damp and drips down onto the floor during particularly heavy downpours and goes away when it stops raining.

We bought our house, a 1930's semi in the summer and we've had no problems until now. This side of the house does seem to bear the brunt of the wind and rain.

Any advice?

Water is running down the wall and moving across that cover strip between the frame head and the brickwork.

You need to remove it and reseal the junction or fit a wider strip with projects past the face of the wall and allows rain to drip off it
