Hi

The seal from my sink rotted so water just flows through to a bucket underneath instead of out of the overflow pipe. How much and how difficult to fix? Pipes are really black with water & mould right now.

Thanks

Say 2 hours of your local plumber's time, whatever that is. Not a difficult DIY repair, usually...

Yeah.
Some pipe.
Solvent weld

Easy enough as above said of pay local plumber

If it's leaking where the sink meets the waste fitting, the usual fix is a new basket waste plus fresh rubber seals rather than trying to patch the rotted one. Undo the centre screw from above while holding the waste body underneath, lift everything out, and clean off all the black mould and old sealant. Fit the new waste with the supplied rubber/foam seal (a thin smear of plumber's putty also works on stainless sinks), reconnect the trap hand-tight plus a quarter turn, then run plenty of water and check each joint with a dry paper towel before putting everything back.

Thank you. Yes that is exactly it. How much will all that cost me? Also I'm no DIY'er whatsover.
