I have recently bought a Finnlife Kolkka log cabin and is leaking quite badly where the sides join the front of the construction. I have sealed all around the windows and door but i cant seem to stop it leaking in the aforementioned areas, the logs are male/female and when we get rain combined with wind it leaks. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated, I paid £3500 in total for this build and don't want to see it deteriorate prematurely. Ive attached some photo's too.

Thanks

I think some pics of the outside would be useful.....and then its out with the silicone sealant gun, probably!

Was it sold as being water tight? (For that kind of money, one of the first things I would want would be guaranteed dryness.)

If so, call out the supplier/installer and get them to fix it.

I think it is getting through the joints by capiliary action, if so you need to seal it on the outside with end grain sealents and then a breathable type paint or stain.

Mastic is horrible stuff externally, ok around windows but not joints, doesnt last long, and as the timber moves with moisture the bond isnt that great which let's water in behind it but then holds it.
