I've just fitted 2 new radiators. An aluminium Faral Tropical and a stainless steel Apollo Genova towel radiator. Both look very good. Problem with both is that I got a drip from where the valve tails screw into the radiator - all 4 of them. I used PTFE tape and I haven't stripped any threads.

I drained the system again, removed the valves and started again. This time I smeared jointing compound into the threads and then used PTFE tape on top. This time I've got one watertight joint and three with a very slight weep. What can I do to make the connections watertight?

have you wrapped enough ptfe on the tails useally a good 8 turns does it.

Was the tape still in the joint when you took the leaking ones apart? If not, you're putting the tape on the wrong way round, or too loose.
Sometimes 8 turns isn't enough, you find you need more like 28 turns
If desperate I put LS-X on top of the tape, and give it half an hour to go off.
Loctite 155 (or is it 151?) stringy stuff, is much better than ptfe tape.
