My bathtub faucet is leaking. I have closed the mains and removed the only screw. This is on the cold/hot regulation handle. I see this now but I am not sure how I am supposed to extract the cartridge. Can you help please?

Looks like the grey piece is a shroud that needs to be removed.

Ok, it went off. What about now please?

Using a wide jaw spanner or wrench type grips (like Knipex smooth jaw) undo the hexagonal part and should unscrew out.

Found a Knipex and this unscrewed out. Is this the part that needs to be replaced or the cartridge is still to be unscrewed from here?

Replace the full tap component from the two wall connectors? Not sure that's DIY

And for the moment so I can reopen the mains, how do I put back the part I have unscrewed today please? I am trying but it doesn't engage and screw back in :(

Looks like the O ring has slipped down to the start of the thread- roll it right back carefully - it's stopping the thread engaging(n)
