'Lean to' shelter for patio

i'm planning to put a 'cover' over my patio. One end would be attached to house the other 5m (17 foot ) away supported by posts. light plastic roof.
I think i dont need support posts in the middle as it is supported both ends and will only have light plastic roof on it. wonder if anyone 'out there' could offer advice - do i need a couple of post in the middle of the 17foot span?

You should be ok if you use 50 x 150, its not really taking a lot of weight, but make sure it is well anchored. rememer that if the wind gets underneath it, it could lift it.
