So I fitted some LED tape in my kitchen nearly a year ago. It's had little use. 12V white 5m I think.

It was split into 3 sections.
I also had 2 tiny PC fans. I think combined they drew about 350mA to help prevent damp.

Anyway, I divided it up into 2 circuits (of approx 1A each, maybe a little more)

I then had 2 old big brick broadband router powersupplies, rated at 1A each from memory. Rather than bin them, I used them to power said items. This has nothing to do with me being tight, or the shocking price of LED drivers you understand.

I used them to drive the 2 circuits.
over Xmas one power supply has failed. Both were hot.

Revisting LED drivers, I see some rated at 20W for £50

This is 1.6A to me. Less than 2A, not enough.

What am I missing? What on earth do people use these 20W drivers for ?

Could I use this to drive them ?

or what proper item should I use ? that is sensible money ?

I would guess to change old halogen transformers to allow led lamps to be used, for G4 and G5.3 fittings, as in when there is maybe several fittings wired to one transformer like undercounter lights
