Hi all,
Can you give some advice please. I have installed a ledger board as two separate pieces of timber (8*2) to carry new floor joists on hangers.

I have simply butted the two ledger boards together as they have m12 resin anchor bolts through out at 400mm centres.

Someone mentioned that the ledger boards should have an overlap to stop them moving lower over time.. is this necessary?

I will attach photos when I have taken them

I did the same thing in a roofing situation that hasn't moved in 25 years so as long as your fixings are good I can't see any reason why it would be different for a floor. But if you are concerned and you have room you could fit a piece of timber under `and across the joint.

No need. If it falls between joists stick an off-cut over the join with a solid noggin, if you feel like connecting them.
