Hi

I want to buy a kit to test water temps to ensure no risk of legionnaires. Does anyone have any experience of these kits? I don't want to buy cheap sh1te however neither do I need top of the range. I'm looking at this one, what do you think?

I think, way over the top. Almost any digital thermometer, intended for liquids, will do what you want, and for less than £10. All you need do, is make sure your stored hot water, at least once per week gets to at least 60C, and you have no pipe work dead legs.
 
Are you doing this for a job, or in a situation where you have a legal responsibility to others? If so, there may be requirements to have equipment that is not “cheapest off eBay” in some sense.

Otherwise, “cheapest off eBay” it is.
 
Legionnaires disease is only an issue when water is stored for long periods, this isn’t an issue in a domestic environment as water is regularly replenished.
Unfortunately, that's not strictly true, hence the need now for landlords having to perform regular Legionella checks as part of the their remit within their domestic rental properties.
That includes the removal of dead legs, ensure fittings and fixtures don't allow the pooling of water, traps and wastes are properly cleaned out regularly, regular sterilisation of shower heads, etc.
