Wife has a table lamp which the touch control to dim and switch on/off has failed, so walking around Lidl now we have the vaccine I saw a basket full of these smart bulbs.

What I did not see was "Requires a Zigbee compatible gateway for use" seems the bulbs came out in February and did not see any gateways for sale, no big deal cost £3 but although did work for a time then it started to dim then go bright again repeatedly.

So is there a cheap device or is the bulb useless? As said no great loss, but maybe can still be used?

I note Zigbee hubs on ebay for £20 and the Lidl one was £20 does it matter what make they are? Lidl is 20 miles away so not a regular visit even without clovid19, so if I can get one from internet then saves travelling 40 miles.

£20 to use a £3 bulb? I'd cut my losses at £3 and bin it...

Up to you, but generally not worth while I would think unless you have a house full of ZB toys already (or want to buy same in future).
