Hi guys
Is it permissable to run a bathroom fan off the light pullcord switch and have it powered via the lighting circuit,

yes.

The fan must not be directly above a bath or shower unless it is a low voltage one.

Electrical work in a bathroom is subject to Buildng Regulations and is notifiable.
