We have a 2 storey double garage and the upper floor has been used for storage space. We have no intention of turning it into a granny flat but do want it more usable and potentially a space for my daughter's drum kit. I intend to do some insulating and the contents of which will be other threads on this forum. But from a building regs perspective, it will remain storage space.
Is there anything I need to do from a legal perspective and is there anything I should be proactive about in case we do change our minds in the future? There is not water running but the building does have solar panels on the roof and electricity supply. Thanks!
