light fitting - yellow cable with red sleeve?

Hi,

I have just bought a new house and the previous owners removed one of their light fittings in the hall - see pic.

I dont want to install a ceiling rose but another light fitting.

Can anyone shed any light on the solitary yellow cable with red sleeve?

The hall has two switches for this light.

Any info would be gratefully received
