light not working

How many volts are there between the switched live & neutral at the ceiling rose?

Continuity readings and voltage readings are two different things. Can you safely access the terminals to measure if you have voltage where it should be when the lights are switched on ? (ie between the switched Line and the Neutral terminal)

a picture may help. check connections at the next working light to check nothing is loose. actually check each cable is in the terminal properly too.

You say in your first post that you have power at the live & in a subsequent post, not between live & neutral. I presume you are measuring between live & earth in order to prove this rather than using a neon screw driver, which means that you are losing the neutral to the ceiling rose. As this is one of several in parallel the most likely place it is breaking down is in the previous ceiling rose in the chain so look there for a loose neutral wire. It may help to look in the wikki at one way lighting circuits.

Hib, a picture of the sunflowers might help, although something alot cheaper that will DEFINATLY help you would be a multi meter. It's crazy to attempt to try and do any fault finding without one. A neon screwdriver is very dangerous and inaccurate.

You can get a multi meter for as little as a tenner im sure.

i suspect you have a neutral down to this fitting but you have no way of checking with a neon screwdriver.

Sorry but that does not prove anything-- use your multimeter. Or is this post a wind up? :?
