Hello

I want to change a light switch in the bedroom.

Current setup.
4 wall lights
2 on one wall (the main lights) and one each side of the bed.
the switches either side of the bed have 2 gangs on and can switch on either own individual wall light or the main 2 wall lights.

The switch as you enter the room turns only the 2 main lights on and is the one I want to change.
The current switch has 4 terminals of which L1 has a red and black cable and
L2 has a red and black cable.

My new switch only has 3 terminals, how, if possible) can this be wired?
Any help much appreciated.

So the main lights can be switched from 3 positons? Sounds to me like you need to buy an intermediate switch, the one you have is no good.

sounds like you have an intermediate switch there Keith do not try wiring it, wait for a sparks to come in from the pub to explain it better. (Shoudn`t be to long , the`re lightweights) ;)
