Hi folks,
I am trying to change (what I believed to be) a 1 way 1 gang light switch for new after decorating a bedroom. I've done this before in other houses, which has usually been straightforward by copying the previous wiring. However, in this instance things are a bit different. As I don't understand the setup, and have no other electrical experience, I was hoping one of you good people might be able to advise me.

I've taken some photos to show the current setup:

And this is the light switch I bought, which I'm presuming is wrong as it only has 2 points of entry for the wires:

Any advice appreciated.

Doh - it's just clicked.. there used to be a separate pull switch over the bed which presumably explains the 2 way wiring.

If there is no longer a pull switch over the bed you can use the existing wiring and the switch that you have..
Put the red in com and the black in L1.
Put the other three wires (in the separate 3-core cable) into the earth terminal on the back box.
